PLACES TO GO

STAMFORD

A wonderful bustling little town. It has a Walgreens and the best antique rugs you can find. Great coffee, good vibes, excellent dive bar.

Stamford Coffee (fun coffee shop with snacks)

Catskills Outpost (fun gifts, home goods, apparel with emphasis on local makers and businesses)

Solinsky’s (the best smoked and cured meats in the world, we think)

Antique Knot (three floors of gorgeous rare and collectible antique rugs)

Tandem Antiques (great for furniture, lamps and other more mid-century leaning antiques)

The Bel (a world-class dive bar with weekly programming like karaoke and trivia, with rotating food options)

HOBART

In between Stamford and Bloomville, this is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it town, but also, can’t miss it (because every shop is a bookstore).

Book Village (an entire strip of town dedicated entirely to book stores! a dream)

Cellar Door (fabulous wine and spirits shop. Wonderful selection at all price points with the best customer service)

BLOOMVILLE

Home of First Bloom! And not a ton else, unless you live here.

First Bloom (it’s us! we have pantry staples, beer and cider, flowers, local meat and dairy PLUS biscuits with jam and other savory treats on the weekends)

Sal’s (a butcher shop that also makes a great turkey sandwich)

Rail Trail (wonderfully flat trail, excellent for long walks or runs, biking, snowshoeing, meandering)

BOVINA

The gateway to Delaware County for many– tucked away in the mountains. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm.

Brushland Eating House (one of the best meals you can get in New York. Intimate dining, more dinner party than traditional restaurant)

Bovina Fermentory (magical setting in the woods with warm vibes and specialty beers. special ticketed dinners on the weekends)

Russell’s (town general store for your basics, including a good ham and cheese sandwich)

Rip Van Winkle Putt Putt Golf (mini golf!!)

ANDES

A picturesque little town with great hiking and trails nearby. Also has a Trailways Bus Stop.

Andes Hotel (epicenter to a lot of Delaware County activities, especially around major holidays. A fun dive bar with good wings and a pool table—more proper restaurant next door, also has great wings)

Clementine Vintage. (clothes for men, women and children)

Mag Pies (best pies in the world from our dear friend Maggie— open on the weekends, she’s also at the farmers market in Delhi on Wednesdays)

Cafe Mutsi (cute cafe with Eastern European leaning menu and wine list. Great desserts/breakfast pastries)

DELHI

The largest of the towns out this way, it has nearly everything you need without going to Oneonta. Some say it reminds them of “Stars Hollow” if that means anything.

Wednesday Farmers Market (year round, check website for location depending on time of year)

Hollow (cafe in the morning + bar with snacks in the evening)

The Stonehouse (sweet little house wears shop with great rugs)

Strickland Hollow (local spirits, wine, cider and beer, snacks on the weekend)

This & That (wonderful vintage/antiques shop for furniture, mirrors, odds and ends)

Eighty Main (great spot for pasta and a negroni)

The Last Word (charming bookstore)

PICCS (great dive bar with better-than-they-need-to-be good jalapeno poppers and onion rings)

HAMDEN

Small but mighty. Depending on how you arrive, it’s the first town you’ll pass if coming from The City.

Hamden General/ Tiny’s Sandwiches  (home of the best bacon, egg and cheese you can find)

Hamden Inn (great spot for casual dinner, good for groups)
